The carcinogenicity of fumonisin B1 (FB1), a worldwide contaminant of corn produced by the Fusaria species of fungi, has been tested recently in 2-year feeding studies in Fischer F344 rats and B6C3F1 mice. Outcomes of this study were published in Toxicologic Pathology (2001;29:379-386).
