Convened in April 2004, the workshop Mental Energy: Defining the Science brought together leading researchers and health experts to discuss how mental energy is perceived, defined, and measured. These proceedings describe discussions on:

  • Moods of mental energy and fatigue
  • Cognitive performance
  • Quality of life
  • Motivation
  • Mental energy and weight management

The proceedings also summarize US Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada perspectives on health claims related to mental energy.
